Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their maiden continental campaign, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Without key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal direct passage to the last 16, especially after a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Opportunity
This occasion provided a chance for several Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved outmatched against a largely rotated Palace outfit. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Shelbourne were hanging on desperately. Full-back Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to avoid a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
The youngster was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
